Contribution Training - An introduction
Contribution Training (CT) has its roots in Gestalt
Therapy, Victor Frankl’s Logotherapy and the work of David Pellin. CT teaches
people how to use the energy of their emotions therapeutically, even the
difficult emotions, to make contributions. We get our needs met through these
contributions and feel our life has meaning in our relationships and the wider
community and world in which we live.
An integral part of CT is a set
of cognitive tools including; listening skills, the emotional pendulum, a sense
of purpose, feelings of accomplishment and the power of true rest. The straight
forward teaching element in CT enables people to apply these tools in a wide
range of life situations.
Through group work and the total
learning environment people gain experience in using the tools in their daily
life.
